THURSDAY LADIES GOLF OPENING DAY 2024

February 1st

Welcome back everyone to 2024 Ladies Golf, We had a lovely field of 36 with a few more still to return back to golf . The weather was fine ( couple of sprinkles as we started) the course was in great condition and we had a bevy of boys at the halfway house waiting to feed us.
Everyone was complaining about feeling a bit rusty and not playing very well and the scores were not spectacular but I think everyone enjoyed their day, catching up with their friends, hearing all the news and getting all the info about our year ahead.

I’ll start with the results of the day: we played a Team of Four best 3 scores to count . The winners were Colleen Kelly, Nancy Douglas, Glenda Ballard and Yvonne Morrison with 106 points. As mentioned in the newsletter we have a busy few months ahead! Our first monthly medal is on the 7 th March as you will see in your new fixture books. Our special event forms are available , they need to be returned by 29 th Feb so Marlene has time to prepare all the paperwork.
Marlene has put together our new fixture books , look after them as there aren’t any spare ones.
The AGM is coming up on the 16 th March 2 pm behind the curtain at the Slice and Fork. The following positions are up for election : Vice President, Secretary, Ladies Captain, Veterans Captain and Men’s Representative.

Then straight after Easter on Sunday the 7 th April we start our month of celebrations for the 40 th Anniversary of our Golf Club. Starting with the opening of our Memorabilia Display ! Details still to be finalised but we need your input : interesting stories ,photos , trophies, contacting retired members , videos of entertainment presented by the members. Any queries see someone on our Anniversary Committee: Brent , Katrina, Judy, Pauline Ryan , Max Jessop or myself.

Cheers to all Single Stableford next Thursday see you all then.
