Joke of the day

Lee and Gary head out to the Golf Course for a quick 9 holes. On the first tee, Lee turns to Gary and says, “What do you say we make this time worth something. Play you for 5 bucks”. Gary agrees, and they start their rounds.

It’s a great game, and the two life long friends reach the 9th tee box with Gary ahead by one stroke. After Lee hits a great drive, right down the middle, Gary steps up and promptly hooks a ball into deep rough and trees. “C’mom”, Gary says to Lee, “Help me find my ball. I’ll look in this patch of trees, and you look around over there.” They look and look, but no ball can be found. The five minute time limit on searching for lost balls is about to run out. Gary gets desperate. He gives a quick glance over to Lee to see if he is looking, then swiftly reaches into his pocket and drops a new ball into the rough. “Found my ball!” Gary shouts out triumphantly. Lee looks at his friend with a great disappointment. “After all the years we have been friends,” Lee says, “You’d cheat me at golf for a measly five bucks?” “What do you mean cheat?” Gary asks indignantly. “I found my ball sitting right here!” Lee let’s out a heavy sigh. “And you’d lie to me, too?” All for a tiny little sum of money? You’d cheat me and lie to me, for what? For five bucks? I can’t believe you’d stoop so low”. “Well what makes you so sure I’m cheating and lying, anyway?” Asks Gary. “Because”, Lee replies, ” I’ve been standing on your ball for the last five minutes!”

Joke of the day

One day, a very wealthy golfer brought his regular golf buddies together, and gave them each $50,000 cash and instructed them that upon his death, they were to throw it into the coffin because he wanted to take it with him. As luck would have it, he died soon after. When the funeral was over, his buddies met. The Doctor in the group said, “I have a confession to make, I put in an empty envelope and I used the money to buy equipment for the free clinic. The Priest said, “Me too, only I used the money to help build the youth center. Somewhat shocked, the last member of the group, a Lawyer, said, I can’t believe you guys went back on your word.” They asked him if he actually put the $50,000 in the coffin. He replied, “I most certainly did ……. With my very own personal cheque.”

83 players took to a wet course for our delayed Monthly Medal. Only 5 players were able to break their handicap and they recorded some very nice scores.

With all the rain we have had recently, the greens are a little soft which are now starting to show a lot of pitch marks. If we can each repair about 5 marks on each green then we will keep our greens in great shape.

Joke of the day

A United States golfer is vacationing on his own in Ireland. He decides to play a round of golf and is paired with three local gents. He takes a few practice swings, steps up to the first tee , and proceeds to hook the ball out of bounds. He shakes his head , reaches in his pocket, and re-tees another ball. He tell his playing partners that he is taking a mulligan. He pounds one down the center of the fairway about 280 yards out. With a big smile, he asks the others, “In the United States we call that a mulligan, was wondering what you called it here in Ireland. After a moment of silence, one of the locals replies, “HITTING THREE”.

Joke of the day

Tom and Bill took a summer job as caddies at a local Golf Club. It was the the perfect job for two 16 year olds. Old Ben was a member of the same club. Even though he was the meanest man at the club, he also made the best moonshine in the county. Every Saturday, he always requested either Tom or Bill to be his caddie. It seemed that they were the only ones that could tolerate his verbal abuse. Once the boys grew into men, they received a letter from old Ben requesting their presence at his Hospital bed. Both agreed, and standing beside the old man’s bed, Ben said,”Boys, I’m dying and I want you to make my peace. Will you accept my apologies for the way I treated you at the Golf Course. “Yes sir, we will,” the boy agreed.

Old Ben handed Bill a Mason jar and said, “Boys, I have one last request: This is a make of my finest Peach Moonshine. Please pour it on my grave when I pass. “Yes sir, we will”, the boys said. The day came, and Tom and Bill headed to the Cemetery with the Mason jar in hand. It took them over an hour to find the grave. “Here it is”, Tom said. Bill handed Tom an empty jar. Tom asked Bill what had happened to the moonshine they were supposed to pour on old Ben’s grave. “I thought I’d pass it through my Kidneys first”, Bill said.
