Joke of the day.

Another day and the Heavenly pair are at it again. While ST Michael leant on his club, Jesus teed off. It was an awful shot. It screamed off the tee and disappeared deep in the rough. Then, suddenly a rabbit darted out onto the fairway with a ball in its mouth. Seconds later an eagle swooped down and carried the rabbit over the green. The rabbit squealed in terror and dropped the ball right into the cup. “HOLE-IN-ONE”. St. Michael turned to Jesus and said, “Look mate, there’s money on this game. Now are you gonna play or fool around?”

Joke of the day

“I’m going to have to give up Golf,” Mick sadly advised the club Secretary, “I’ve become so near-sighted I keep losing balls, and if I play with glasses they keep falling off.” “Listen, don’t give up,” the secretary replied, “What about teaming up with old Bob Sullivan.” “But he’s in his 80’s and can only just make it around the course. ” “Yes,yes, he’s old, but he’s also farsighted and he’ll be able to see where you’ve hit your ball. It’s a way to stay on playing.” The next day Mick and old Bob played their first game together. Mick teed off first and his powerful swing took the ball sailing up the fairway. “Did you see it!” He asked Bob. “Yes,” the old-timer answered. “Where did it go?” “I forgot!” Came the reply.

Nigel Luxton paced anxiously up and down outside the emergency room of the Tweed Heads Hospital, not far from Banora Point Golf Course. Inside the Doctors were operating to remove a golf ball, accidentally driven down a players throat. The sister-in-charge noticed Nigel and went to reassure him. “It won’t be long now,” she said. “Are you a relative?” “No, no Sister. It’s my ball.”

It’s just not on, old man. You know I didn’t get the wife there in time and the baby was born on the hospital’s front lawn.” Harry leant over, took the bill, crossed out the offending entry and substituted another. “Greens fee $250,” it read.

MENS GOLF WEDNESDAY 12/10/22

Another nice day, but it got a bit windy as the afternoon field got half way through their round. I arrived at the course at about 1.30 in the afternoon and came across a set of clubs. I’m hoping that they have been claimed . They were left in the car park, in the area where the Golf cart trailers are parked. I’m hoping that the owner didn’t have a bad round and decided he had had enough of golf. I took the clubs and gave them to Reece to look after.

Don’t forget Saturday week, October 22nd, we have our Foursome Championship on. Get on line and book your spot, or go in or ring the Pro Shop to secure your tee spot. 27 holes, Shot gun start, and only 78 players. And following, in the month of November we will played our Club Championship.

We are still having players in carts taking their carts up the left hand side of the 16th hole. Please take your cart around the right side of the green .

Today’s event was a 2 Ball Aggregate Stableford.

Winners Greg Seymour and John Gardiner 76pts.

Runners Up Ken Wood and John Gardiner 73pts. As John Gardiner was a swinger, he is only allowed to win one main event Prize.

PRO PIN Joe Lehkyj $60 Pro Shop Voucher.

Raffles John Mason $25. John McLoughlin $25. Perc Dempsey $25.

Joke of the day.

Mulholland believed himself a superior caddie. He certainly had a superior attitude towards the man whose clubs he carried. Why only last month he had carried for Lee Trevino, and now each time his client asked for a 5 wood, the boy would sneer, “Lee Trevino used a 4 iron from here. And so it continued all the way around. The caddie recommended the clubs Trevino would have used and the golfers game went rapidly from bad to worse. Finally, at the eighteenth, there was a huge lake to cross. “Ok, know-all,” said the golfer, “What would Trevino suggest here?” “I think if Lee had come this far with you, he’d say, “Use an old ball.”

Joke of the day

When the Maharajah of Merchandani was taken suddenly ill during a holiday in England, and he was attended by a young locum, filling in for the Wimpole Street surgeon. The Maharajah’s appendix was deftly removed and the patient was beaming. “You saved my life,” he said to the young man. “Whatever you want, shall be yours.” “It was quite simple really,” protested the young surgeon. “But I am a rich man, I insist,” said the princely patient. “Well, I’d love a new set of matched golf clubs,” the young Doctor admitted. “Consider it done,” came a stately reply. The surgeon forgot all about this Grand promise, until some weeks later when he received this cable: HAVE YOUR CLUBS BUT SADLY ALL NOT MATCHED STOP FOUR DO NOT HAVE SWIMMING POOLS STOP

The day started out beautiful, but as the afternoon field took to the course, the heavens opened up and destroyed the days play. 4 afternoon groups got started but by the second hole we decided that being inside the Island House was the best place to be. Well the conditions didn’t favor good golf today. Sunny, blue sky’s, but a very strong Northerly wind that made good scoring hard to get. Only 4 players with scores of par or better.

MENS GOLF SATURDAY 24/9/22

After 2 days of pretty steady rain, today’s course rating was open but no carts. The course played very well, not as what we expected. The fairways were very good, but the rough had big patches of surface water. But all in all very good to play on.

We had a very good field today with 37 players. Normally we only get about 20, but this could be that they only want to play golf.

Single Stableford 1 Division and only 2 NTP’S.

Winner was. Jono Dwyer (14) 40 pts. $50. Runnerup Alan Hubbard (4) 38 pts. $35.

Ball rundown went to 34 pts.

NTP’S 7th Pat Hayes. 16th Kevin Bartlett. 2 balls each.

Banora Point Real Estate Lucky Draw Mark James $20.

Next Event Wednesday Single Stableford. PRO PIN 16th.

Just remember, keep your Carts and Scooters out of the rough. It will be wet and soft for quite some time. And take your Carts and Scooters around the 16th green .

Joke of the day.

“What’s your golf score?” The country Club interviewer asked the prospective new member. “Well, not so good,” replied the golfer. “It’s 69.” “Hey, that’s not bad. In fact, it’s very good.” “Glad you think so. I’m hoping to do even better on the next hole,” the golfer confided.
