MENS GOLF SATURDAY 5/11/22

Well we had a mixed bag today, Very overcast when the Championship started, then not long after the last group in the morning teed off, rain, and then that stopped not long before the the afternoon field started, then we had a sunny but very windy day to finish.

We had a hole in one today. Patrick Tregellas holed out on the second. Pat used a 4 iron into a steady breeze. Well done Pat.

We had 93 starters today for our Championship and Monthly Medal and the results were.

Division 1. David Wallis (12) 68. Runnerup Michael Tink-Hornett (7) 70. Third Place Patrick Hayes (10) 72.

Division 2. Mark James (19) 66. Runnerup Michael McKay (17) 70. Third Place Jared Brown (13) 71 c/b.

Division 3. Luke Chester (24) 64. Runnerup John Dalley (36) 66. Third Place Perc Dempsey (27) 68.

Ball rundown went to 73.

An Australian touring round Britain was playing on a small course in Devonshire. He was on the first green and about to putt when he was suddenly beset by a flock of seagulls. “Piss off, will ya,” he cried, thrashing at the birds. A sweet little old lady who was sitting knitting near the green came over to speak to him. “Excuse me,” she said. “There’s no need to speak to the little birdies like that. All you need to say is “Shoo,Shoo little birdies!” THEN THEY’LL PISS OFF.
