Good morning members
I’m sure you have noticed the ground staff have been quite busy over the past few months
We have carried out a reconstruction of the par 3, 16th hole and a reconstruction of the children’s playground at the front of the club
We have also taken advantage of having a bobcat and excavator on site, allowing us to move approximately 5000 m³ of sand onto damaged areas of the golf course
Over the last 8 years we have moved and spread over 15,000 m³ of sand onto the course
A fantastic effort by our staff
The majority of the damage to the course has been caused by flooding events in December 21, March 21, February 22 and March 2022
These flooding events left us with approximately 1 m of water over the whole course
The weight of the water has cause significant movement in all the areas of our golf course
This week we are tiding up the lower areas on the right in the left-hand side of the 6th fairway
All of the sand in the rough area’s should be played as GUR
Since Coverd 19 struck in February 2020 causing reduce staffing levels we have been unable to carry out the filling of the low areas throughout the golf course
The reality of the situation is we are trying to catch up on work that should’ve been carried out over the last 2 years
This coming summer is forecast to be another wet summer like the previous two
The surrounds of the tee, greens and bunkering areas remains soft and wet
This is why it’s so imperative that we do not drive our golf carts close to the greens, over drainage grates, over drainage lines and over irrigation parts causing unnecessary damage
The major annual greens and tee renovation will take place between Monday 12 December and Friday 16 December 2022
Good Golfing ⛳️
Kind Regards RODGER SCOTT
