Pennant Results 2021

A beautiful but very cool morning greeted us for day one of the NRDGA Pennant season.

Our number 1 Team played Coolie-Tweed at Mullumbimby. Stepping up to a higher division we realized it was going to be tough, and it was, with Coolie defeating us 5 1/2 to 1 1/2. Brendon Williams winning his match 2/1 and Kevin Haddrick squared his match.

Our number 2 Team also played Coolie-Tweed at Murwillumbah and they also were defeated 5 1/2 to 1 1/2. Jarrod Brown had a good win 3/2 and Skipper Nigel Luxton squared his match.

Byron Bay was the venue for our number 3 Team and they also played Coolie-Tweed. This time the match was halved, 3 1/2 to 3 1/2. Tony Brown had a terrific victory 6/5, giving his opponent 5 shots. Charlie Huff playing his first game of Pennant golf, started well with a 4/3 win. And skipper Wayne Muir was taken to the 18th hole but he came up victorious 2 up. Another new player to Pennant golf, Brendon Willoughby, played the last match, in the pressure spot, held on to square his match over a very experienced opponent.

Team 4 played Coraki at Coolie-Tweed and had a great 5 1/2 to 1 1/2 victory. El President, Brent McLennan started the ball rolling with a 4/3 win, followed by Lee Wichello winning 3/1. Will Salter playing his first Pennant match won 2 up. Darren Hubery was taken to the last and won 1 up, and Mark Jessop had a solid win 4/3, and how can we forget Jimmy Wood, he had a very tight match against a 14yr old opponent, but the pressure got to the young feller who missed a putt on the last and the match finished square.

Next week our No 1 Team plays Byron Bay at Ocean Shores at 7.30.

Our No 2 Team plays Ocean Shores at Byron Bay at 8.15

Our No 3 Team plays Lismore at Coolie-Tweed at 8.15
