MENS GOLF WEDNESDAY 16/2/22

81 players went out under very grey skies, but as the day progressed it turned into a beautiful day. It was good to get into the team’s event, but when we finished the old computer just wouldn’t do what it was supposed to do, so if you are trying to see where you finished, hopefully we will be able to get the results up tomorrow, gratefully before it shut down I was able to find out the basic results.

So today’s results were, Winners Owen McCallum and Kim Thackeray with 69pts, Runners-up Allan Corke and Owen Snelling 66pts.

Ball rundown went to 57pts.

NTP’S Division 1 2nd Nick Davis, 7th David Von Itzstein, 12th Trevor Neil, 16th Peter McCray.

In a few weeks, I’m going to put out a survey, which will be attached to your score card. I am wanting to know if when we play a CHAMPIONSHIP, would you want to receive a Trophy and a sum of money on your card if you win, or would you not want a Trophy but a larger sum of money put on your card. e.g. Trophy and $50. or no Trophy and $80. When I send out the survey it will be attached to the back of your card, it will have 2 boxes labeled, Trophy or no Trophy, tick the box you want. THANKS.

Joke of the day

Mary and Jackie were on the 18th green. Mary was about to putt, when a Funeral procession passed on the road, alongside the Golf Course. Instead of striking her putt, she stood, head bowed, until it had passed. Jackie, confused, said, “Mary, that was a lovely gesture just now. I’m proud of you.” “It was the least I could do,” Mary said. “I was married to him for 40 years.”

Joke of the day.

An 80 year old man goes to the Doctor for a check-up. The Doctor is amazed at what shape the guy is in and asks, “How do stay in such great physical condition?” “I’m Italian and I’m a Golfer,” say’s the old guy, “And that’s why I’m in such good shape. I’m up well before Daylight and out golfing, up and down the fairways. Have a glass of Vino, and all is well.” “Well,” say’s the Doctor, “I’m sure that helps, but there’s got to be more to it. How old was your Dad when he died?” “Who said my Dad’s dead?” The Doctor is amazed. “You mean you’re 80 years old and your Dad’s still alive. How old is he?” He’s 100 years old,” say’s the old Italian golfer. “In fact, he played golf with me this morning, and then went to the topless beach for a walk, that’s why he’s still alive … he’s Italian and he’s a golfer too.” “Well,” the Doctor says, That’s great , but I’m sure there’s more to it than that. How about your Dad’s Dad? How old was he when he died?” “Who said my Grandpa’s dead?” Stunned, the Doctor asks, “You mean you’re 80 years old and your Grand Father’s still living! How old is he?” “He’s 118 years old,” say’s the old Italian Golfer. The Doctor is getting frustrated at this point, “So, I guess he went golfing with you this morning too?” “No, Grandpa couldn’t go this morning because he’s getting Married today.” At this point, the Doctor is close to losing it. “Getting Married! Why would a 118 year old guy want to get married?” “Who said he wanted too?”

Joke of the day

Paddy and Mick were returning to their native land to play in the all Eire Champions Golf Tournament. Halfway across the Atlantic, the pilot of their plane came over the intercom. “Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your Captain speaking,” he began. “I regret to say that we have lost the use of the outer starboard engine. But there is nothing to worry about. We still have three perfectly good engines, which will get us to Shannon Airport.” And an hour later the Captain’s voice was once again heard. Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s the outer port engine that’s gone this time. But nothing to worry about, we still have two good engines.” Another half-hour passed and once again the Captain came on the intercom, “Ladies and Gentlemen, I do regret to announce that the inner starboard engine has gone ..” he said. “Begorrah, Mick,” Paddy turned to his mate with a worried expression. “If we lose that fourth engine, we’ll not only miss the Tee off, we’ll be up here all night.”

Joke of the day

There were several men in the locker room of a private Club after a round of golf. A cell phone that had been sitting on one of the benches, rang. A nearby man picked it up. “Hello?” He answered. “Honey, it’s me,” a women’s voice said on the other side. “Are you at the club?” “Yes,” the man responded. “Great! I am at the mall, two blocks from where you are, and I just saw the most beautiful mink coat. It is absolutely gorgeous! Can I buy it?” She asked. “What’s the price?” The man asked. “Only $1,500,” she said. “Well, okay, go ahead and get it, if you like it that much,” he said. “Ahhh, great. Also I stopped by the Mercedes dealership and saw the new 2022 model at a really good price, and since we need to exchange the BMW that we brought last year … ” she pressed. “What price did the dealer quote you?” The man asked. “Only $60,000,” she said. “Fine, but for that price, I want it with all the options,” he said. ” Great, and before we hang up, there was one other thing,” she said. “What’s that sugar?” “It might look like a lot, but I was going through your bank account and I stopped by the Real Estate office this morning. I saw the house we had looked at last year. It’s on sale!!! Remember? The one with the pool, English garden, Tennis court, acre of Park area, beachfront property.” “How much are they asking?” The man asked. “Only $1.45 million. A magnificent price, and I see that we have that much in the bank to cover it. ” “Well then, go ahead, but just bid $1.4 million, okay?” The man responded. “Ok, sweetie” the woman said, over the moon with happiness, “Thanks! I’ll see you later !!! I love you!!! “Bye ,” the man said. “I love you too.” The man ends the call, raised his hand while holding the phone and said to the other men in the room. “Does anyone know whose phone this is?”

A husband and wife died and went to heaven together. They were met at the gates by an Angel, who was to show them around the place. “Right over here, we have our very own golf course!” the Angel said. “Wow! It’s beautiful! Can we play it now?!” They exclaimed. “Sure!” said the Angel. So the couple began playing. It was the most beautiful course they had ever seen. Everything was perfect, the Fairways, the Greens, even the rough was well kept. The more they played, the more the woman beamed with happiness, but she noticed her husband was becoming Disheartened and angry. The woman confronted her husband on what was wrong. “I can’t understand why your not happy,” she said. “We’re in Heaven! We’re together! We’re playing on the most beautiful and most perfect golf course ever! What’s wrong with you?” “That’s just it,” he fired back. “If you hadn’t fed us those damn health foods, we’d would have been here years ago!”
