Joke of the day

A Woman awakes during the night to find that her husband is not in bed. She puts on her robe and goes downstairs to look for him. She finds him sitting at the kitchen table with a hot cup of coffee in front of him. He appears to be in deep thought just staring at the wall. She watches as he wipes a tear from his eye and takes a sip of his coffee. “What’s the matter, dear she whispers as she steps into the room, why are you down here at this time of night. The husband looks up from his coffee, “Its the 20th Anniversary of the day we met.” She can’t believe he has remembered and starts to tear up. The husband continues, “Do you remember 20 years ago when we started dating, I was 18 and you were only 16, he said solemnly. Once again, the wife is touched to tears. “Yes I do” she replies. The husband pauses, the words were not coming easily. “Do you remember when your father caught us in the back seat of my car.” Yes I remember said the wife lowering herself into the chair beside him. The husband continued, “Do you remember when he shoved the shotgun in my face and said, “Either you marry my daughter or I will send you to prison for 20 years. I remember that too, she replied softly. He wiped another tear from his cheek and said, “I would have gotten out today.”

MENS CHAMPIONSHIP TEE TIMES …… EVERYONE PLEASE READ

Please take time and read what time you are hitting off next Saturday. This is not only for the seeded tee times. Barry and myself have had to move some of your times to be able to have the seeded draw. We have done our best to try to have as little disruption as possible but some players have had to have a change of groups to allow for the seeded groups and unfortunately this has effected both morning and afternoon fields.

Directly behind her is a man lying in the middle of the floor. The police are startled and check to see if the man is still alive. “He’s dead,” says one of the officers. “Ma’am, is this your husband?” “That is correct, yes.” “Did you just hit him with that golf club?” “Yes, I did.” The woman breaks down and begins to sob uncontrollably letting the bloody golf club dramatically drop out of her hand and it hits the floor. She stands there with her palms covering her face continuing to cry. “Wow, he’s a mess! Can you tell me how many times you hit him?” “I don’t know ……… put me down for a five.”

MENS GOLF WEDNESDAY 2/11/22

Windy, but fine and sunny, had a big effect on golf today, with some great scores, and some ordinary scores,(mine in particular) in our best ball today. 87 players strode our fairways today, but for some reason we have lost all the visitors. I’m sure they are only taking a break before Christmas.

This Saturday is our 1st Round of the Championships. With expecting rain on Friday and Saturday, if we are able to have carts on the course, the Championship is on. We only have one spare Saturday, and we don’t want to use it on the first Saturday. So notice will be on the blog early Saturday morning to let you know if it is on or not.

Let’s get to the results of yesterday, 4bbb Stableford.

“I’ll go and ask if we can go through, ” said Max to Jerry. The two golfers had been concerned for some time at the snail-like progress of two women, originally some three holes ahead and now just in front of them on the ninth fairway. Max returned after only a few paces towards the ladies. “Jerry, this is very embarrassing, but would you mind going. That’s my wife up ahead and she’s playing with my mistress.” Jerry returned having got no further forward than Max. “I say,” he said “What a coincidence. “

“You surely don’t want me to hole out?” the pompous amateur flustered. His ball was about thirty centimetres from the hole, but his opponent, a professional, answered quietly. “No.” The amateur picked up his ball and walked on to the next tee. He was about to take the honour when he was interrupted by his opponent. “My honour, I think,” said the professional. “I won the last hole, as you didn’t putt out.” “But you said you didn’t want me to hole out,” spluttered the amateur. “That’s right. I didn’t. And you didn’t. ”
