What a wonderful day , we played one of our favourite annual events Pink Lady Day, we celebrated Betty’s 97 th birthday. And we had a great shared lunch thanks to a lovely tradition “ bring a plate” !!

A lovely field of 40 players including 4 visitors from Coolangatta Tweed played aTeam of Four Best 3 scores in conjunction with a Pink Ball Competition.

The winners of the Pink Ball Competion were Dorothy Biggs, Alison Blair, Denise F Culpitt and Marlene Wyatt. They each received a decorated coat hanger hand made by Pauline Ryan maintaining the tradition started years ago by Captain Joyce Flanagan.

Dorothy, Alison, Denise and Marlene also won the main event of the day The Team of Four Best Three to Count with a score of 119!
Runners up were Denise Melling, Denise M Culpitt, Bev Culpitt and Daphne Andersen with 113 points. There were 3 teams in the rundown which went to 108 points.

NTPs winners were : Denise F Culpitt, Denise Melling, Liz Edwards and Denise M Culpitt. They each win $5 on their card while their 3 team members get a ball. The Pro Pin was won by Kaye Mills $39.

Betty’s Surprise Birthday celebration went off successfully we all wished her well she was given flowers, cards, a cake and a cute little figurine .
We also welcomed Rosie and Cheryl who benefitted from the welcoming camaraderie of our club.

Next week we have our last Monthly Medal for the year!
This Sunday is our Mixed Foursomes Championships – 27 holes with a shotgun start! We hope everyone has an enjoyable day!!!🤩🤩

Another fresh but lovely day . We welcomed another new member today, Thelma 😁. Two in two weeks let’s hope there are more to come!!
We celebrated Maren Coopers 80th birthday today 🎉 and welcomed her to the ranks of the OBE’s .
We also celebrated with Kaye Mills her Eagle on the 9 th hole!

Next week 20thJuly we have a 4 ball vs par, this is a qualifying event with a further playoff event at Murwillumbah in September. You don’t have to nominate or pay any money for this first game ! The top two teams available go to Murwillumbah to the playoff on Friday 15 th September. So just be sure that your team are both in agreement about whether you want to have an opportunity to play in the playoff.

In two weeks on the 27th July we have our Pink Lady Day always a lot of fun, don’t forget to wear PINK . In conjunction with this day we are going to celebrate Betty’s 97 th Birthday this is planned to be a SURPRISE for Betty. We ask you all to bring a plate between your group of 4 try to have two people bring something savoury and two bring something sweet and we will have a PARTY 🎉 . Barry will not be doing any sandwiches on that day!

This week we played the 5 th of 6 Monthly Medals for the year! It was quite a cool start to the day but at least the rain had stopped and buggies were allowed on !! Thanks Rodger !

We are halfway through our year already with a few events coming up, we have Pink Lady Day , Keno Qualifyer Day, Mixed Foursomes, Ladies Foursomes aAugust Monthly Medal and Tombola Day all to get through before the end of August.
We have a new member Lisa Smith , we hope she and her husband enjoy our great club.
We have a few members who are on the sick injured or unwell list , we send them our best 💖💖

We played our Captain vs Vice Presidents match play event today. 32 players played 4 ball match play with a few interesting variations to the rules- including “ one free kick out of the rough” “free drop out of a bunker” and “ free drop after going in the water”.
Once again the Vice Presidents team won !! 5matches to 3.

Another fresh but sunny day , shortest day of the year so summer is on the way!! We played a single stableford quite tough out there! Only one player who played better than their handicap and one who played to their handicap!
Well done to Myra Biggar with 39 points and Denise M Culpitt with 36 points!

We are having a nice run of weather at the moment , sometimes a little cool first thing in the morning but overall we are happy not to have rain !!

This week we played our fourth Monthly Medal for the year, only two to go! That’s six stroke rounds in a whole year, not much really!

Coming up we have our Captains vs Vice Presidents Day . Four ball match play! Put your names down with whoever you want to play with. On this Thursday after golf Katrina and I will take it in turn to pick pairs for our teams . They will go up on the board and on this blog . Vice Presidents team please wear black and white , Captains team please wear very colourful!

This week we have a Single Stableford , we have Pink Lady Day on the 27 th July and coming up in August we have our Foursomes Championships, 27 holes of fun golf!!!
Don’t forget to keep checking the notice board there is a temporary change to the bunker rules at the moment because the bunker machine is broken!

With hopefully only the one hiccup we are hoping to play the third round of our Club Championships this Thursday 1st June!
Everything has been progressing smoothly so far, the course is great and the greens are getting faster with the dry frosty weather.
As we are all getting older it is getting harder to be able to make it for all three games with various health problems for us and those near and dear to us! We all still have something to aim for with daily prizes open to all players each day!
Remember we have a special free lunch after the game for all our members and a drink or two!

The redraw has been done for Thursday, any problems let us know . At this stage I know that not everyone can see the blogs if they log in through the Twin Towns App it goes straight to the log in with no way to see the blogs or course status hopefully it will be corrected early in the week. If you get the opportunity check amongst your friends that they know what is going on, I have contacted all the non players to invite them for lunch!

No buggies or scooters for Thursday 18 th so Day 1 for our Championships will be Tuesday 23rd May, then Day 2 will be Thursday 25 th with Day 3 Thursday 1st June.
There will be a free lunch and drinks on the last day, we invite all members who are available to join us. We know some of you are unable to play all 3 games or not able to play a stroke round so please join us for our lunch and presentations but please let us know for catering numbers you are very welcome!!

Anyone who is now available to play on any of the days contact a committee member and let us know there is a daily ball rundown and best nett and gross for each day!
