Men’s Golf Saturday 11-11-23

The weather cleared and we were very lucky to have carts on for our Individual Stableford. Definitely worth mentioning that when carts are allowed on after rain, it is a responsibility of ALL cart users to make sure we respect the course and NOT drive through wet areas! We have numerous members who can’t walk 18 holes and must use a cart and will be unable to play if the rest of us do the wrong thing and carts are off because it’s too hard to park on the fairway and walk over to the ball. Please use some common sense and have respect for the course and our members that rely on carts being on the be able to get out for a game. This includes keeping ALL carts 15m from the greens at ALL times.

For the first time in a long time, we had more than 10% of the field play under their handicap and the ball rundown going only as far down as those who did play to handicap.

Winners today:

Division 1 Phil Coles (17) 40pts runner-up Pat Hayes (12) 39pts on a countback.

Division 2 Steve Wilkinson (20) 41pts on a countback from Nelson Davies (20) 41pts.

Next weeks comp is a Irish 4 Person Stableford.

This is a stableford competition for 3-4 players.

For the first 6 holes (1-6) the best individual score counts.

For the second 6 holes (7-12) the best 2 individual scores are added together to make a team score.

For the final 6 holes (13-18) the best 3 individual scores are added together to make a team score.

Team with the most points are the winners.

Hit it hard and hope you make more that 5 meters off the first tee! However, when you win a Pro Pin, a NTP and a Long Drive, the first shot of the day doesn’t really matter does it Simmo?

Captain Tink.
