2025 LADIES CLUB CHAMPIOSHIPS

Winners and Runners up nett and gross for 2025

CLUB CHAMPION FOR 2025

Photos above : Our 2025 Club Champion Alison Blair and group photo of Nett and Gross Winners and Runnersup in two divisions for 2025.

We were lucky to get through our Championships after a couple of false starts. We actually had 3 lovely days and the course continued to dry out and look better all the time.

Sadly we ended up with a very small field which was disappointing as quite a lot of work and expense go into organising such an event β€” we can’t control the weather , we could have waited till later in the year and had the same thing happen again.

Many thanks to everyone involved , our lovely hard working committee, our computer/numbers people , our greens staff and Barry and his team.

Mens NRDGA Pennant Update

MSG From NRDGA.

The weather Friday with forecasts for Saturday and Sunday has forced our hand, I must be a dreamer trying and hoping the weather forecast is wrong.

No full explanation required but course conditions, club bookings, carts, and player enjoyment considered.

After reviewing the above, I have decided to not use the possibility of 15th June. We will reschedule to October 26th 2025 where we were going to run a standalone 1 day team event, playing for the pennant flags.. More details closer.

Sunday POSTPONED

2025 Ladies Club Championships Update!πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†

After a couple of false starts we have finally started our Championships. We couldn’t have asked for a better day and the course was prepared as well as possible after all the rain thankyou to Brendon Will and the team. Thanks to β€œsomeone” getting bogged on the practice fairway we now have the gate near the pool area unlocked for easier access for buggies.

We played our first of three rounds today, front runners in the gross were 1st Division Alison Blair 87, and Kaye Mills 94. 2nd Division Marilyn Berryman 107, and Glenda Ballard 109. Front runners in the Nett 1st Division Liz Edwards 73 and Vivienne Sulejmani 73 .2nd Division Marilyn Berryman 73 and Coral Rasmussen 74.

Daily Rundown balls went to Marilyn Berryman 73, Liz Edwards 73, Vivienne Sulejmani 73, Coral Rasmussen 74, Alison Blair 75, Colleen Kelly 76, Nancy Douglas 77, Peggy Williams 77, Denise Melling 77 , Glenda Ballard 77, Kaye Mills 78 and Christine Waghorn 78.

Don’t be despondent girls there are still two days to go , fine weather is forecast and some of our front runners are unavailable for all three days because of the date changes we have had to make so come on out and join us.

Special thanks to our hard working computer girls

Cheers from your committee

Men’s NRDGA Pennant Update.

Round 2 scheduled for 24th June has been cancelled. Below is the email from the NRDGA Captain. The decision was made at midnight on Wednesday.

I started the following at 5.00pm tonight,Thursday. Yamba had 21mm in the previous 2 hours, 7 hours later now 143 mm. Maclean maybe not as bad and Grafton 60mm. Courses north of Ballina have missed the rain fortunately.Β

I have called off the 2nd round of the pennant. We have a few courses still closed, a few open with tee up. and even if they open a few without carts or are heavily restricted. We do not have enough courses with availability to reschedule matches

I notice we have had locallyΒ our annual average rainfall in less than 5 months. 1533mm or 61 inches.

We will now go to the Eisenhower Cup format on Sunday the 1st June. I am working on a draw and this will be circulated this week.

It has been suggested we look at moving the pennant, we have been down this track in the past but we always were trying for after September each year. With Club Championships, other major events and course renovations it never was a goer. The suggestion is we move it to a bit later, possibly July. In my almost 40years involvementΒ in golf in the Northern Rivers we have had wet, and floods but I can only remember a couple being washed outΒ and now 3 in 4 yearsΒ Β
