Another enjoyable day on the course saw some impressive scoring despite the winter conditions. Division 2 produced the round of the day, while a host of players collected golf balls in the rundown and plenty of extra prizes were handed out around the course. Congratulations to all of our winners!

David Von Itzstein (8) claimed Division 1 honours with an excellent 39 points, earning the $50 Voucher. Darren Hubery (18) finished runner-up after a solid 37-point round to collect the $35 Voucher.

A Reminder About Pace of Play
We’re seeing an increasing number of groups, particularly in the morning field, falling well behind the group ahead. Please remember that it is the responsibility of the lowest marker in each group to help ensure the group maintains the correct pace of play. Your group should be right behind the group in front at all times. Moving forward a new Local rule will be introduced disqualifying the group, not just the lowest marker as per Men’s Golf Match Committee 11/7/26
When groups lose position early in the day, it creates a ripple effect that sees the afternoon field teeing off 30β50 minutes late, with the final groups not finishing until around 5:00 pm.
From now on, slow groups will receive a written warning for a first infringement. A second infringement will result in disqualification from the competition.
Please be considerate of your fellow members by keeping up with the group ahead, being ready to play, and embracing Ready Golf wherever possible.

How lovely it was to to play under blue skies and sunshine for a change. The course is recovering beautifully from all the rain and it is a great credit to the green keepers who have worked so hard to get it back to top condition. The greens were fast and true. It was another enjoyable competition with plenty of impressive scoring and some excellent teamwork on display. Congratulations to everyone who featured in the prizes, with a tightly contested leaderboard and plenty of familiar faces collecting vouchers, ball rundowns and special prizes.

ο· FINANCIALLY THE CLUB BANORA GOLF CLUB IS IN ITS STRONGEST POSITION SINCE THE EARLY 2000βS. THAT EXTENDS ACROSS VETS, LADIES AND MEN. TO THAT END YOU WILL SEE SOME UPCOMING EVENTS THAT WILL BE βFREE DAYSβ FOR βMEMBERS ONLYβ. WITH ADDED BONUSES SUCH AS EATS AND PRIZES. PLEASE SUPPORT THESE AS A LOT OF EFFORT GOES INTO SETTING THEM UP AND IT IS ONE OF THE FEW WAYS WE HAVE, TO PAY BACK, YOU THE MEMBERS FOR YOUR SUPPORT.

ο· NEIGHBOURS DOWN THE 1 st /10 th FAIRWAY. BALLS INTO THEIR PROPERTY. SIMILAR TO THE ISSUES WE HAD WITH THE 5 th A FEW YEARS BACK. THIS IS CURRENTLY BEING INVESTIGATED AND IβVE ASKED THAT WE BE KEPT IN THE LOOP BEFORE ANY FINAL DECISION IS MADE.
ο· WE HAVE HAD A NUMBER OF ISSUES OF LATE HAPPENING ON AND AROUND THE PRACTICE FAIRWAY. FROM VISITORS, NON MEMBERS AND ANOTHER INTERNAL CLUB THAT SOMETIMES USE THAT AREA. WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED THAT NEW FIBRE OPTIC CABLING IS BEING INSTALLED FOR THE MAINTENANCE SHED AND WHEN COMPLETED CCTV CAMERAS WILL BE INSTALLED IN THE AREA AND AROUND THE CART SHEDS. ON COMPLETION THE GATES TO THE PRACTICE FAIRWAY AREA WILL BE LOCKED AT ALL TIMES AND CART SHED OWNERS WILL HAVE A GATE CODE. ALL OTHER ENTRY TO THAT AREA WILL BE VIA THE PRO SHOP. HOPEFULLY THIS WILL SOLVE A LOT OF THESE CURRENT ISSUES.
ο· ALONG THE PRACTICE LINES YOU WILL HAVE SEEN SOME NOTICES REGARDING USING THE COURSE PROPER AND GREENS AS A PRACTICE AREA PRIOR TO PLAYING. TO REITERATE β THIS IS A NO, NOβ AND ANY FUTURE BREACHES OF THIS RULE WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION FROM THE DAYS EVENT.
ο· AS MENTIONED AT THE AGM, FAMILIARITY IS ONE DRAW BACK IN A SMALL CLUB, IN THAT EVERYONE ALMOST KNOWS EVERYONE ELSE AND THEREFORE FEEL THAT BOUNDARYS DO NOT APPLY WHEN SPEAKING TO OR ABOUT OTHER MEMBERS.
ο· THIS ATTITUDE HAS COME TO THE COMMITTEEβS ATTENTION RECENTLY WITH PARTICULAR CONCERN FOR OUR TWO MEMBERS WHO ARE ALSO PART OF THE COURSE MAINTENANCE STAFF.THESE MEN ARE FIRST AND FOREMOST MEMBERS OF CLUB BANORA GOLF CLUB AND MUST BE TREATED RESPECTFULLY AT ALL TIMES AS IS THE SITUATION WITH ALL OF OUR MEMBERS AND MATES. SUPPOSED GOOD NATURED RIBBING IS ALWAYS FUNNIER IN THE EYE OF THE DELIVERER THAN THE RECEIVER. SO, LETS STOP THIS UNNECESSARY BANTER AS IT IS BECOMING TOO PERSONAL AND EMBARASSING TO ALL.REMEMEMBER THEY ARE OUR MATES THAT ARE DOING A JOB AS THEY ARE TOLD TO DO AND DOING IT WELL. UNTOWARDS CONDUCT WILL NOT BE TOLERATED AND WILL BE TREATED HARSHLY.
