No Carts This Weekend. Competition Changes.

Due to the course still being very wet and underwater in some areas. The decision has been made to not allow carts or scooters on the course this weekend. This is to preserve the course and to minimise any further damage.

The following competitions have changed as followed.

Mens Competition 17th May, will be a walkers only Competition, with a Winner Takes all prize. You can either play 9 or 18 holes. The winner is decided by the best score for 9 holes.

Men’s Round 2 Matchplay has been postponed to the 24th May with weather pending. I will contact each member individually to set up tee times.

Sunday Mixed Competition 18th May. Rosie’s special golf day will now be pushed back to the 25th of May. We are going to try and transfer all booked in players for this Sunday and move them to next Sunday. Please check your tee booking over the weekend to confirm. More slots will be open to players wanting to join in Rosie’s golf day on the 25th May.

We are all hoping for the sun to come back and the course to get a chance to dry out. Long range forecasts don’t look promising. Fingers crossed.

Mens Captain.

NRDGA Men’s Pennant Round 1 cancelled.

Taking into consideration quite a few courses are closed, the forecast for more rain Thursday and Saturday and the realisation that even if open, very doubtful, there will be no carts on most courses.

NRDGA have made the early call to abandon the first round of pennant scheduled for this Sunday the 18th of May.

Hopefully we can get some clear, no rain days with strong winds to dry things out.All teams will receive half points for the first round. If the second round is also abandoned, as per the pennant conditions we will immediately go to the Eisenhower Cup format for play on either the third round or the  day of the finals.

Ladies Golf Championships Update

Sorry everyone we have had to cancel this weeks start to our Club Championships. The course just can’t dry out with continual rain showers and there is every chance there will be no carts allowed on Thursday. Your committee has decided to transfer the start of the Championships to next Thursday 22nd May, and hopefully finish off the next week on Tuesday 27th and Thursday 29th May. If this doesn’t work out we will give it a break and try again a bit later in the year. Barry has transferred the names over to the Thursday and Tuesday with the third round closed till we do the seeded draw! If you can’t play on either of those days just take your name out If by some chance we can play on This Thursday it will be a Single Stableford
