Vale Bernie Anderson

Its with a heavy heart, that long time golf member Bernie Anderson has passed away at the age of 94. Bernie and his wife Daphne have been long time members of the Club for about 40yrs. Daphne is still active within the club.

I did have the honor of knowing Bernie. He was a true gentleman and a kind soul. I did have the honor in playing a few rounds of golf with him. Long off the tee and always down the middle. Bernie had the sense of humour that would always make me laugh and others playing in the group and he definitely loved a beer or two.

Our thoughts go out to Daphne and family at this difficult time. Daphne and Bernie were married 70yrs and that just doesn’t happen everyday, that’s something pretty rare and special.

The funeral is next Friday on the 2nd of May and will be held at Kirkwood Rd at 2:30pm and wake to follow at Club Banora.
