S/Stab Wed Men’s 11/3

Well, it was a day where the weather wasn’t the only thing that had a good lie — the bunkers got some love too! Yes, you heard right: the preferred lies rule was in full swing, and it wasn’t just the grass that was getting a break — even the sand seemed to want to be part of the action. If you found yourself in a bunker, don’t worry, your ball was living its best life with a little extra cushion and some gentle encouragement to stay out of trouble. It was a day where every shot had the potential to be a “wow, that was lucky” moment.   • Division 1:
    Tony Blair claimed the top spot in Division 1 with an outstanding 39 points and earned the $50 voucher. Bill Mann, just one point behind, secured the runner-up position with 38 points and a $35 voucher. Both players demonstrated great consistency, finishing with handicaps of 13.6 and 18.9, respectively.
  • Division 2:
    Jonathan Roberts topped Division 2 with a score of 38 points, earning himself a $50 voucher. Wayne Howlett, with an equally impressive 38 points, took the runner-up prize of a $35 voucher. Roberts played with a handicap of 30.3, while Howlett’s handicap stood at 23.3.

NRDGA Men’s foursomes

Club Banora sent away 2 teams to contest the NRDGA Men’s Foursomes Championship at Iluka today. 27 holes of alternative shot.

Tony Blair and Sam Benny just missed out on getting a place. Well played.

Fresh from his A grade Monthly Medal win Brian Springfield & Medal of Medals Champion Ken Mount played a consistent and solid 27 holes to take home the Nett Runner up.

Congratulations both teams for doing Club Banora Golf Club proud and standing out with those bright orange Pennant shirts.

Men’s March Monthly MEDAL

Another Monthly Medal done and dusted, it was filled with drama and DQ’s – only a small field today with only 62 players. The weather scared a lot of the morning field off. The weather turned out to be ok.

Division 1

Brian Springfield (10) delivered an outstanding performance to claim the Division 1 win with a superb score of 70 . Garry Dowding (0) finished runner-up on a countback also scoring 70, while Sam Benny (7) captured the gross honor’s with 79.

Division 2

Dean Stockwell (18) led Division 2 with a winning score of 67. Kevin Bartlett (15) followed closely behind with 70. Tony Blair (13) secured the gross prize with 85.

Division 3

David Haime (20) finished on top in Division 3 with 72, while Des Scott (21) claimed second place with 73. Paul Quinlin (21) took the gross honours with 100.

It turned out to be a good day, not sure why most of the morning field pulled out of the competition. No wind or rain. It was an absolute pleasure playing in the morning field. The course held up with the most recent rain and thunderstorms.

No dramas today with the new hole switch with the 2 par 3’s all reports indicate a success transition.

Patrick Tregellas led the way with an excellent 42 points off 9, edging ahead of Kevin Bartlett who carded a solid 39 points playing off 16.
