Well the wind was up at it’s peak yesterday, but at least the field dodged the rain that is here now. 70 members played our last Stableford Hidden Holes. I tried something different and it wasn’t a hit so we will move on and I’ll look for another format that will be popular to throw into the mix.
The Hidden Holes were 2, 7, 13 and 16 with our winners being:

We celebrated OBE Day today honouring all our ladies who are Over “…….” Eighty !! We now have 16 of these ladies still playing golf every week with one having just turned 90 and Betty who is an honorary member of the group at 97 having retired last year!
The winner of the OBE comp was Nancy Douglas with 34 points and the winner of the OBE NTP on the 16 th was Doreen Rankine. We had 12 players over eighty today plus our honorary member Betty. They were Nancy Douglas, Judy Mount, Doreen Rankine, Diane Hughes, Maren Cooper, Peggy Williams, Desley Harrington, Mary Minogue, Lucy Ablett, Myra Biggar, Dorothy Biggs and Muriel Murray. The other four OBEs not present were Daphne Andersen, Mary Swanson, Bev Culpitt and Jeanette Fisk. WE SALUTE THEM ALL 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
The rest of the field also played a single stableford the winner was Marilyn Brown with 35 points and the Runnerup was Lyn Simpson with 34 points. The rundown was over the field with our OBEs featuring in the rundown and the nearest the pins. Winners of the NTPs on the 2 nd were Peggy Williams and Marilyn Brown and on the 7 th were Kaye Mills and Denise M Culpitt. The Pro Pin was won by Alison Blair.

Our next big event Is Melbourne Cup Day .Tuesday 7 th November. We are playing a fourball medley —- two men , two ladies or a lady and a man . The booking page opens on Monday night , we have time slots from 7:30 am till 8:30 at this stage if it fills up we can extend it , lots of prizes , sweeps and a raffle, food is byo to share with your table! Plenty to think about for now!!
A near perfect day on the course today with a gentle breeze that made one think about their shots a little. Greens are still running quick and a couple of good pin positions made birdies harder to come by. 87 players hit the course for a 4 Person Ambrose with the winners being:

A little bit of rain showed up today but from all reports was gone within the time it took to play out the hole. Greens are still very quick which is making it tougher than normal with only 1 member playing to handicap today.

Pretty good playing conditions greeted us all today compared to last week. It’s starting to warm up and the greens are pretty quick as a result. A good sized field of 84 players played the first of one of our new formats, Single Stableford hidden holes. Only 12 holes were scoring holes which were 2-3-4-5-7-8-9-10-11-13-15-17.

Another great day for a round of golf. Sun was shining, greens were true and the recent rain has certainly been welcomed. There still seems to be issues with members filling out score cards correctly. For those of you who don’t check the white board regularly, the local rules for cards are on there as well as directly behind the slot in the desk where the cards are submitted. I’m back on course on Saturday to assist with any questions regarding how to fill a card out correctly and Brent and Wayne are there to assist on the days I’m at work.
