Men’s Golf Saturday 16/09/23
Jumpers are off and Spring is turning out some pretty good days. It was an interesting going through all the results today compared to Wednesday. Only 2 members broke or played to their handicap on Wednesday off the whites where we had 27 play to or beat their handicap off the Blue’s today. Must have been that Southerly on Wednesday wreaking havoc on us all.
Winners of today’s Stroke round were
Division 1 Mick Kemp (8) 65 runner-up Kieran Gallagher (12) 67 on a countback.
Division 2 Mick McKay (14) 67 on a countback from Nigel Luxton (17) 67 as well.
Division 3 Darren Hubery (20) 67 on a countback from John Olsen (21) 67 as well.
Ball rundown went to 70 all in.
Single Stableford was won by JackFedden (20) 41pts runner-up Tony Blair (12) 40pts.
Stableford ball rundown went to 37pts all in.

78 members braved a solid southerly and quick greens toady in our individual stableford.
Winners were
Division 1 Tim Reeder (12) 35pts on a countback from Kevin Tooley 35pts as well.
Division 2 John Edwards (20) 39pts runner-up our President Brent McLennan (31) 38pts.

A single Stableford that pits the prowess of our lovely ladies against the brawn of our gentlemen. We will determine who is the fairer, stronger and most awesome golfers during this fun filled SUNDAY competition. Will it be the MEN OR WOMEN?? Be there to participate in what we would love to see as an annual event.
PRIZES GALORE. LOTS OF FUN NOVELTY EVENTS.
We ask that if everyone donates ONE ITEM on the day, we will also be able to hold a TOMBOLA raffle at the end of presentation.

We played a Single Stableford on Thursday for our Jarrod Lyle fundraiser day. Prizes were donated by Barry and the Jarrod Lyle Foundation. We also raised $147 on the day !

This coming week is busy we have our Gold Medal Playoff with the rest of the field playing a single stableford. Also on the day we will be celebrating DAPHNE’s 90 th Birthday. So remember to “bring a plate”.
On Friday we have 4 players representing our club at Murwillumbah to playoff in the 4ball vs Par event. We wish them good golfing and an enjoyable day They are : Pat Hodda, Liz Edwards, Pauline Benny and Denise Melling.
Pensions are going up !! And so are our golf fees!!
From October our Annual Fees rise from $430 to $470 and our daily comp fees go from $16 to $17.
There is still room for more players for our Open/Invitation Day . If you have invited a guest we need their Golf link no and any special food requests!
After that it will be straight in to October and Xmas will be just around the corner!

A decent southerly greeted the morning field for the 2nd round of our championships and Jared Lyle Day. With gold coin donations and the donation of all the takings from the raffle, Men’s Golf contributed $332 to a very worthy cause. Thanks must also be given to Barry for donating prizes towards the day as well.🙌
