June Mens Monthly Medal

The June monthly medal was finally played without preferred lies and the course almost back to perfect condition. There was alot of nice scores coming in throughout all the grades. Slow play held up the morning field, with a few groups, which made it a long day for those playing in the afternoon with some very late finishes crossing the bridge back to the island house. Please keep in mind. It’s the responsibility of the lowest marker in the group to keep the pace of play. You should always be behind the group infront and not let them get too many fairways ahead. Things do happen. Stroke rounds, Lost balls, going back to the tee if you have to hit again. It’s ripple effect from the morning players to the afternoon field. If you see your group falling behind, start encouraging your playing partners to get a move on, help find each other’s balls especially in the current wet course conditions we normally play in and ready golf etc.

I would just like to apologise to the following group of Bill Man, Steve Wilkinson, Tony Waller and Nathan Stockwell. You guys had a super quick round, just over 4hrs and the group infront of you did break the record for the fastest round of the year. There was no way you guys could of kept up that pace and my apologies for giving you a hurry up. Admittedly I didn’t have the full picture when I saw your group. Sorry Fella’s.

A Grade: Nathan Stockwell (5) or should we call you “Mr Medal” won with a score of 68. Runner up was David Von Itzstein (8) with a 70. Gross Winner was Michael Kemp with a 79.

B Grade: Winner, Liam Henzell (16) won with an amazing score of 67. Runner up was John Faust (14) with a 68. Gross Winner was Kevin Bartlett with a score of 84.

C Grade: Winner, Ross Prickett (20) with a impressive score of 65. Well done Ross. I hope you don’t lose too many shots for that round. The runner up was John McLoughlin (26) with a score of 68. Gross Winner was Peter Lindblad (21)

Ball rundown went to 73 all in.

Pro Pin: Ed Brieley $65

2nd Hole: Nathan Stockwell, Robert Cohen, Will Salter.

7th Hole: David Killon, Nick Davis, Wayne Muir.

12th Hole: Michael Kemp, Franky Watego.

16th Hole: Nathan Stockwell Kevin Bartlett, Ed Brieley.

Raffle Winners: Walter Fisk, Stephen Caine, Greg Morrison, Patrick Tregellas all wining $25 each and Michael Kemp taking home $50.

A new prize will be introduced in the Men’s competition for the Wednesday and Saturday comps. The prize will be for the best 9 hole score. You have to play 18 holes to be eligible. 1 prize winner per division.
