Rosie was elected Vice President in the shadow of the most dramatic time of the Golf Club history; the closure of half the course holes.

There was a mass membership exodus with 100 members not re-joining after the revamped course opened.

Prior to Rosie becoming Vice President, the position was seen as being the pseudo Ladies President.  Rosie demonstrated that the senior female executive could manage with a whole of Club focus.  She also managed the flagship Sunday mixed competition.

Sunday participation was strong with Rosie providing a competition of diverse team events.  Her humour and an understanding that members valued the post competition fellowship at least as highly as the 18 holes round, made presentation a highlight not to be missed.

Rosie took on the administrative challenges of ensuring Sunday success ensuring funding for competitions and importantly hosting and support for social events at Christmas, in July and at Honour Board times.  Sponsor days were a feature of the strategy and Rosie was always sure to promote and recognise the sponsor groups.

The strong participation at Rosie’s last sponsor day, only a few days ago, tangibly reflects the respect for her achievements.

Beyond respect, it was a friendship that Denise and I had with Rosie that added value to time spent with her.  She had a significant business acumen, honed in the banking industry, that provided insight to many matters beyond golf.

Rosie was a substantial contributor to Club Banora Golf and will remembered as a friend and shining light.
