Respect the Course: Pace of Play and Awareness
Golf is a game we all enjoy, and part of enjoying your round is making sure everyone on the course feels comfortable, safe and respected.
We all have a responsibility to keep up with the pace of play, but maintaining pace does not mean hitting up on the group in front of you.
Know Your Distances
Please be aware of the golfers ahead of you at all times and know your own distances and capabilities.
If there is a group in front of you, please do not hit simply because you think you cannot reach them. If there is any doubt, wait.
The group in front may be closer than you realise, may be moving back into position, or may simply not have anywhere to go. Your ball being in the air serves no purpose if the group ahead is still within range.
When in doubt, don’t hit.
The same applies when approaching greens, tees and fairways. Take a moment, look ahead and make sure the way is clear before playing your shot.
Please Don’t Take Matters Into Your Own Hands
We also ask members not to approach or tell fellow golfers to hurry up, particularly while they are playing their round.
We understand that slow play can be frustrating, but confronting or pressuring another group can make an enjoyable day uncomfortable for everyone.
If you believe there is an issue with the pace of play, please leave it until the end of your round and let a committee member know. You can also put your concerns in writing or email the Golf Committee at:
golfcommittee@twintowns.com.au
This allows the matter to be addressed appropriately and respectfully.
A Little Common Sense Goes a Long Way
At the end of the day, we are all here to have fun, enjoy the day and play golf.
Please:
- Be aware of the group in front of you.
- Know your distances and your own limits.
- Never hit when there is a possibility you could reach another golfer.
- Be patient when the group ahead cannot move forward.
- Keep up with the pace of play without putting other golfers at risk.
- Respect all players, regardless of their ability or experience.
- Raise concerns appropriately rather than confronting fellow golfers on the course.
Good golf etiquette is about more than pace of play — it’s about safety, common sense and respect for everyone sharing the course.
Let’s all do our part to make Twin Towns Golf Club a place where everyone can enjoy their round.

As we head into the final round, the following seeded groups will tee off at the times below:
- 10:30am – A Grade: Garry Dowding, Michael Kemp, Aaron Garland, Dave Killion
- 10:36am – B Grade: Charlie Huff, John Faust, Mitch Taylor, Mark James
- 10:42am – C Grade: Tony Waller, Darren Hubery, David Harrod, Steve Salter

Winners by Division
Overall Stableford: Congratulations to Graham McKenzie, who took the win with an excellent 40 points off a handicap of 21. Matt Cox also finished strongly with 40 points to take the runner-up position.
Division 1 – Daily Stroke: Congratulations to Charles Paton, who finished on 67 off a handicap of 3 to take the Division 1 victory. Patrick Ganet was the runner-up with a score of 69 off a handicap of 12.
Division 2 – Daily Stroke: Congratulations to Darren Hubery, who claimed Division 2 with a score of 69 off a handicap of 20. Steve Salter finished runner-up on 70 off a handicap of 24.

A Fond Farewell to Charlie
Finally, we would like to wish Charles “Charlie” Paton all the very best as he prepares to leave us next week and head home for family commitments.
Charlie is currently leading the Men’s A Grade Club Championship after three rounds, and he has also been an important member of the Men’s Division 6 winning team.
Charlie has certainly made his mark, both on and off the course, and we’re sure everyone will join us in wishing him safe travels and all the very best for what lies ahead.
Good luck, Charlie! We hope to see you back with us again soon. You will certainly be missed!

Ladies Golf Results – 13th August.
Another beautiful day for golf and 27 ladies enjoyed a lovely day out in the sunshine with some great scores returned.
The course is looking at its best. Greens running smoothly although there were some tricky pin positions. Thankyou to the greens staff for all your hard work getting the course back to tip top condition.
Results for today’s Single Stableford are as follows:
Winner with a wonderful 42 points was Pauline Benny.
Runnerup with a lovely score of 41 points was Desley Harrington.
Congratulations ladies on wonderful golf.
Rundown went to Coral Rasmussen 39 pts, Glenda Ballard, Mary Swanson, Peggy Williams all with 37 pts. Next with 36 pts were Pat Hodda, Denise Melling, Diane Hughes and Maren Cooper . Colleen Kelly and Liz Edwards 35 pts.
